Solidary Christmas in Puerto Banús

A walk through the marina under the glow of Christmas lights, while the little ones meet Santa Claus, to end up visiting the first ship to complete a tour around the world … This Christmas, this wonderful plan has a name: Puerto Banús. In the marina we have organized multiple events during Christmas festivities to celebrate, as every year, that it is already Christmas time in Puerto Banús. This year is even better, because the funds raised in all the activities will go to Save the Children’s “A tu lado” program.

ACTIVITIES FOR THE LITTLE ONES AND NO-SO LITTLE ONES

The Christmas programme will match with the beginning of December. “A tu lado” project from Save The Children also will start its raising funds campaign on December 1st. All the offered activities are under a donation, intended to support more than 2.000 families and 3.550 children hit by the socio-economic crisis following the current pandemic situation.

LA NAO VICTORIA DOCKS IN PUERTO BANÚS

From 3rd to 12th December, the replica of the first ship to navigate around the globe returns to the Dock of Honour at Puerto Banús.

The Nao Victoria embarked on an expedition between 1519 and 1522 that lasted 3 years and 14 days, sailed 32,000 nautical miles and set a precedent in the navigation world. Nao Victoria Foundation brings back the exhibition where visitors can get on board and feel the experience of this unique maritime journey.

The replica that now arrives in Puerto Banús manages to mirror the feat the original Nao Victoria achieved. In 2004 the reproduction of the ship set off from Seville to sail around the world on a voyage that lasted two years. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 to 19:00 and, tickets can be bought on board or at www.fundacionnaovictoria.org

Also, December 3rd will be the first day of the marina’s Christmas lights display. The Christmas lights will be available from the 3rd of December until the 6th of January from 18:30.

SANTA CLAUS MOVES INTO PUERTO BANÚS

The Control Tower and the Dock of Honour at Puerto Banús will become the centre of operations for Santa Claus and his elves. This Christmas village offers the little ones a space of magic, light and colour in which to wander around.

Along with Father Christmas and various elves, children can participate in Christmas decoration and make-up workshops in the mornings and afternoons.

DAD,MUM, IT´S TIME FOR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!

The marina will offer visitors a nursery with professional carers and monitors to make your Christmas shopping more relaxing. The price of the crèche is 5 euros per child. The opening hours from 4 to 8th of December will be from 12 to 14 and 16 to 20 hours.

SOLIDARITY DONATION

The activities organised by Puerto Banús are part of a solidarity project created by Save the Children. The donations will go to the “A tu lado” programme, which persues to alleviate the impact of the socio-economic crisis resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The health emergency has caused that more than 2,000 vulnerable families to see their economic situation worsen considerably. With their incomes reduced by up to 31%, to an average of just €6,942 per year.

Therefore, Puerto Banús will allocate the donation between three lines of action: school reinforcement, psychological support and basic needs. These initiatives aim to prevent school failure, reduce the socio-economic education gap and guarantee access to food and necessities.

Do you want to find out more information about this initiative or donate from home? Through this link, you can join this challenge and help the most exposed families receive the help to sustain and improve their opportunities.
