It is the first marina in Spain to offer this security service, benefiting its clients, visitors, and users of the nautical area.

This new security enhancement ensures compliance with navigation regulations within the port area, particularly regarding speed limits, as well as preventing unauthorised vessels from accessing the marina.
At Puerto Banús, we continue to advance our commitment to safety and excellence. Therefore, starting in July 2024, we have implemented a security and surveillance service using jet skis, allowing for more thorough control of navigation rules both within the sheltered waters inside the port area and at its maritime access point, known as the marina’s entrance channel.
Given the high volume of maritime traffic that Puerto Banús experiences during June, July, August, and September, this security service, contracted by the marina through its surveillance equipment provider PROSEGUR, will be in place annually from 2024 during the summer season.
The jet ski security and surveillance service is offered daily from 12:00 to 20:00, when there is a greater flow of vessels entering and leaving the port area. The security personnel assigned to this task, in addition to being certified security guards, have also obtained nautical qualifications for operating jet skis.
In addition to controlling vessel speeds, this innovative water security service effectively prevents unauthorised maritime access to the port, as many small boats and jet skis without berths in Puerto Banús often attempt to enter to embark and disembark at the docks.
Another benefit of this new service is, of course, the prevention of thefts and robberies on vessels. Moreover, in emergency situations, it is highly useful to have additional security and surveillance on the water, as their role involves being in constant communication with the Marine Department and the Security Control Centre.
Puerto Banús is the first Spanish marina to offer this advanced surveillance and security service, and just a few weeks after its implementation, the marina has already noticed a significant reduction in incidents related to violations of navigation rules within the port area.
