  • Cívitas is going to develop several luxury urbanisations in Marbella, Mijas and Estepona hand in hand with Puerto Banús, with exclusive services in our marina, and which will be a benchmark in terms of sustainability
  • The alliance includes the acquisition of the “naming rights” for 5 years of our port area, which will be renamed Cívitas Puerto Banús
  • Additionally, the joint development of new luxury marinas with residential developments is being evaluated
  • Cívitas will invest around 80 million euros in the next 5 years

Cívitas enters Andalusia strongly and to do so, it has reached an agreement with Puerto Banús to form an alliance to jointly develop luxury real estate projects with the highest degree of sustainability.Within this agreement, Cívitas has acquired one of the few urban lands in the Los Rodeos area, owned by Puerto Banús, located in Marbella 600 meters from the marina. In the future, the construction of luxury homes that will have exclusive services is being considered: Mooring in Cívitas Puerto Banús, access to VIP parking, access to boats, etc. Additionally, Cívitas, in association with Puerto Banús, plans to develop other developments in Marbella, Mijas and Estepona. Within this alliance, Cívitas acquires the naming rights, for a period of 5 years. Thus, our marina is renamed CÍVITAS PUERTO BANÚS. Puerto Banús is the first marina in the world to commercialise its “naming rights” and, as a result, we enter the league of sports facilities and entertainment centers with naming rights with commercial appeal due to the volume of visits, interest, positioning and values. This market, widespread in other countries such as the United States, has been developing in Europe in recent years with operations such as the sponsorship of Emirates Airlines with the Arsenal FC stadium or Etihad Airlines with the Manchester City stadium. In Spain, the sponsorship agreements of La Liga Santander, the Spotify Camp Nou stadium or the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium of Atlético de Madrid are known. The investments that Cívitas will undertake in all of these projects will exceed 80 million euros in 5 years. In addition to the synergies between two companies that lead leading projects in terms of sustainability, they will jointly explore the development of new luxury marinas in Andalusia and other luxury projects in coastal municipalities.

Our marina receives an average of 5 million visitors per year and our impact as a tourist destination generates €954 million per year to the GDP of the Costa del Sol, according to PwC. With 915 moorings and more than 200 commercial premises, our complex is repeatedly classified as the first marina and one of the most luxurious holiday destinations in Spain. Starting our strategic change in 2018, we are immersed in a process to become the European port of reference in terms of sustainability and the environment, having installed new regeneration systems for biodiversity, obtaining the Blue Flag that only 30% of the ports have Spanish ports and carried out in-depth studies on the protection of biodiversity and research with prestigious Andalusian Universities, among many other actions. Cívitas and its group of companies Cívitas is a developer with 200 million of its own funds without bank debt. It is currently undergoing an aggressive expansion in 11 Spanish cities with a turnover forecast of €400 million in 2025. Cívitas currently has a portfolio of land to develop more than 8,000 homes. Graphenstone ecological paint, with a factory in Seville and marketed in 33 countries, absorbs CO2 because it is based on lime synthesized with graphene materials. Because of the ph of lime above 13, it is certified as antimicrobial and antiviral. The group of companies designs sensors to measure air quality, polymers that are applied in the medical industry, antimicrobial soils, and maintains research lines for the efficient application of green hydrogen.
