Obtaining the ‘Safe Tourism Certified’ seal through our Health Risk Prevention System against COVID-19

¿Did you know that Puerto Banús holds the Safe Tourism Certified Seal since July 2020? Find out what this certificate consists of and its importance in our marina.

The “Safe Torurism Certified” seal is awarded to tourism service providers, as a mark of guarantee and certification of the implementation of a Health Risk Prevention System against COVID-19.

Puerto Banús has obtained this seal on a voluntary basis after passing the audit in two areas of the Spanish tourism value chain.

  • Nautical-sports facilities and nautical activities.

  • Beaches.

We updated this seal to the protocols recommended by the Ministry of Health; and for its evaluation, we have prepared specific checklists based on the UNE specifications composed by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) in collaboration with the Secretary of State for Tourism.

These specifications are:

  • Measures to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Part 15: Nautical-sports facilities and nautical activities. Guidelines and Recommendations.

  • Measures to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Part 20: Beaches. Guidelines and Recommendations.

This certification relates closely to the Sustainable Development Objectives since it has a very direct link with the health and well-being of citizens and tourists by reducing the risk of contagion, the consequent generation of employment, the availability of a clean, safe environment, responsible with the city and the marine environment.

Puerto Banús is one of the 16 Spanish port facilities that has the Safe Tourism Certified seal.

In Spain, 16 nautical-sports facilities and nautical activities hold the ‘Safe Tourism Certified’ Seal: 3 in Andalusia, 9 in the Balearic Islands and 4 in the Valencian Community. Although there are also other certifications similar to this that certify the good follow-up of hygiene protocols and standards against COVID-19.

As forbeaches, there are 152 distributed throughout the Spanish territory: 89 in Andalusia, 6 in the Balearic Islands, 4 in the Canary Islands, 7 in Cantabria, 9 in Catalonia, 17 in the Valencian Community and 20 in Murcia.

We invite you to join this commitment to take care of our health and improve our habits of life.
