C02 emissions certification with AENOR, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability

Did you know that from Puerto Banús we have carried out a study of our Carbon Footprint throughout 2023 with AENOR, thus reinforcing our environmental responsibility, to continually improve our practices, advancing in the implementation of more sustainable solutions?

At Puerto Banús, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The recent certification of our CO2 emissions by AENOR highlights our responsible and transparent approach to environmental management, contributing to key SDG targets.

In 2023, Puerto José Banús reported a total of 841.85 tons of CO2 equivalent (t CO2e), in accordance with the GHG Protocol standards. This effort directly aligns with SDG 13: Climate Action, as we focus on measuring, verifying, and mitigating our greenhouse gas emissions.

Furthermore, this process supports SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, as we analyzed in detail our Scope 2 emissions, generated by electricity usage. The high percentage of these emissions emphasizes the importance of adopting clean and renewable energy sources, and encourages us to explore energy efficiency opportunities.

The AENOR report not only certifies our emissions but also guides our future actions in reducing our carbon footprint, addressing SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. We are committed to improving our practices and reducing indirect emissions, reinforcing our dedication to a more sustainable future.
Puerto Banús will continue to lead with environmental responsibility, advancing the implementation of more sustainable solutions and collaborating across sectors to build a more environmentally friendly future.
