A total of six monumental sculptures have been installed on the docks of our port area, which will be installed until January 21, 2024. A sculptural exhibition for the whole family with which the artist encourages dialogue between art and public space as a form life of social relevance.
In an act attended by more than 150 guests, Cívitas Puerto Banús celebrated the inauguration of a new large-format sculpture exhibition at its Honor Pier; an artistic exhibition that comes to Marbella for the first time after having passed through cities such as Rome, Milan, Miami or Shanghai.
‘The Journey of Life’ is the name of this exhibition that is made up of six sculptures made of bronze and marble that, through their circular shapes, accompany the viewer on a fluid journey and turn the marina into a wonderful open-air gallery free.
Accompanied by Benjamín Sánchez Morett, Marketing Director of Cívitas Puerto Banús, the artist explained that his inspiration “are the pre-Columbian stone spheres of different sizes made by the ancient Boruca culture developed in Costa Rica more than 2,000 years ago.”
The exhibition ‘El Viaje de la Vida’ encourages dialogue between art and public space as a vital form of social relevance. “It is a couple endowed with a force that is manifested in the emotion that the urban landscape provokes in front of the sculptures,” declared Jimenez Deredia.
With this sculptural exhibition, the artist born in Heredia, Costa Rica, unites the notion of eternity and the cosmos in volumetric archetypal female figures of fertility and their importance is amplified in the white and Mediterranean surroundings of the marina that, exhibition after exhibition, it turns out to be an unmatched framework.

“Celebrating this type of large format exhibitions, and by the hand of international artists, is a way of contributing, from our marina, to the commitment that our province of Malaga has been developing for several years, to promote art and culture among citizens”, explains Benjamín Sánchez Morett, Director of Marketing at Cívitas Puerto Banús.
The pieces that make up ‘El Viaje de la Vida’ by Jiménez Deredia, passed through the city of Valencia a few years ago, and on this second occasion through Spain they will remain for five months in Marbella, being able to be enjoyed until January 21, 2024 in Cívitas Puerto Banus.
This free and open-air exhibition becomes the fifth exhibition of international sculptures that Cívitas Puerto Banús hosts in its streets and docks. As a benchmark for European tourism and after hosting artistic exhibitions such as ‘My Secret Garden’ by Arne Quinze, ‘Aquí Estamos’ by Leiko Ikemura, ‘JoGis Bear’ by JoGis Art, and ‘Las Torres de la Alhambra’ by Cristobal Gabarrón, Cívitas Puerto Banús continues to demonstrate its commitment to culture and awareness, bringing together nature, art and culture to all its visitors with a family leisure proposal, and values the work of national and international artists, giving them visibility in a space visited by millions of people.
