Collaboration with Maiti Nepal, a charity against exploitation, violence and trafficking of women and children

Puerto Banús has hosted the recent V Maiti Nepal Charity Gala in which funds have been raised to cover, for another year, the costs involved in the optimal functioning of the Teresa Academy school.

Maiti Nepal is a non-profit organization that combats exploitation, violence and trafficking of women and children throughout the country, with the headquarters being based in Kathmandu.

The foundation was born 29 years ago, in 1993, thanks to its founder Anuradha Koirala, named CNN Hero of the Year in 2010, with one main objective; to prevent human trafficking for forced prostitution, rescue victims and rehabilitate women who have been rescued. Since its inception, Maiti Nepal has dramatically highlighted the issue of trafficking, with strong advocacy at the local, national, and international levels, rescuing children and women from exploitative conditions both in Nepal and abroad.

To combat the exploitation, violence and trafficking of women and children, they organize comprehensive and rehabilitation programs promoting education, health and social inclusion.

Thus, Puerto Banús has hosted the celebration of the V Maiti Nepal Charity Gala held on September 10th 2022 at the Muelle de Honor, which was attended by different businessmen from Madrid, Marbella and surroundings, in which they managed to raise more than €80,000 to make it possible for the school in Maiti Nepal to continue operating for another year.
