Cristobal Gabarrón
Las Torres de la Alhambra
March 2nd – July 2nd
Cívitas Puerto Banús, Marbella
‘Las Torres de la Alhambra’ (The Towers of the Alhambra) is the sculptural exhibition by the Murcian artist that pays homage to the palace as an example of tolerance and coexistence, as a meeting point between Muslim and Christian culture. The importance of these sculptural samples, some of which reach up to five meters in height, is amplified in the surroundings of Cívitas Puerto Banús which, with its Mediterranean white tones, turns out to be an incomparable setting, allowing viewers to enjoy art and nature in the outdoors simultaneously.
Cristobal Gabarrón, author of these sculptures and painter, sculptor and muralist, invites you on a journey to the characteristic architecture of the famous Granada monument of the Alhambra through the use of colourful contrasts that he uses in his works, which are an attraction for all ages.
The seven sculptures, Torre de la Cautiva, Infantas, Mihrab, Armas, Cadí, Damas and Comares, are polychrome glass pieces that arouse emotion with their shapes and colours. The sculptures denote some architectural characteristics of the Alhambra, creating a whole dynamism and different perspectives.
