In 2018, from Puerto Banus, we started a strategic plan of transversal development towards becoming a Sustainable Marina and thus, we understand that awareness of respect for the environment is a very important line of work for the achievement of a more sustainable future.
In this way, and as part of our plan based on four basic pillars, in Puerto Banús and in collaboration with the Mar Puro Association, environmental workshops are occasionally given to children; fun days in which the important role that the seas play in our ecosystem and the problems of not respecting basic issues such as recycling are transmitted.
The NGO Mar Puro is an organization aimed at cleaning up the sea and raising public awareness about it and generating genuine projects to solve environmental problems and needs. For this reason, the strategic alliance with Puerto Banús is key for both entities in achieving their goals, as we are a marina that has a special commitment to the Agenda 2030 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
Finally, it is important to highlight that from Puerto Banús we have a permanent collaboration program with this organization to raise awareness among children of the importance of caring for the environment with emphasis on the protection of our seas. Thus, we continue to involve and raise awareness among the population thanks to the different events and recurring actions that are being carried out based on the port’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
