From 25th to 28th November, Los Naranjos Golf Club will host the last event of the year for Ladies European Tour
Once again, the commitment of Puerto Banús to promoting and enhancing equality through sport is reflected in our sponsorship of the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España. The tournament, which will take place from 25 to 28 November at the Los Naranjos Golf Club, will conclude the Race to Costa del Sol 2021, ranked for the Ladies European Tour.
The day before it starts, on 24 November at 5 PM, Carlota Ciganda will make the honorary start at Puerto Banús. The ceremony will be of great social importance, thanks to the participation of Make-A-Wish Spain, the NGO collaborating with the tournament.
Carlota Ciganda: from the green to the water
The Navarre player’s honorary stroke will either end up on the green or in the water. It is not that we have any doubts about Ciganda’s prowess, as she has always been in the top 10 all 7 times she has played in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open, but rather that the challenge consists of reaching a floating green. The event will also use sustainable balls, which will become food for fish.
The ceremony will raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Spain foundation, a project to realise the dreams of boys and girls who are seriously ill. Along with Ciganda, the golfer Gerard Pera will also be at Puerto Banús to give a spectacular display of long-drive, in his capacity as ambassador for Make-A-Wish Spain.
The sponsors’ buggy arrives
For the first time, Puerto Banús and Reale Seguros are official sponsors of both the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España and the Solheim Cup 2023. For their part, Reale Seguros underline their commitment to diversity, decent employment, quality training and boosting women in sport. We at Puerto Banús likewise ratify this encouragement for events supporting women’s sport and raising its profile.
If you would like to see how you measure up on the same challenge as Carlota Ciganda, you too can take part in the floating green contest at Puerto Banús from 25 to 28 November, between 4 PM and 6 PM. In addition, staff from the Real Andalucía Golf Federation will be on hand at Puerto Banús to offer orientation and beginners’ courses for people who are not club members.
Next weekend, women’s sport will be the star attraction at Puerto Banús. Los Naranjos Golf Club will become the place to enjoy the deciding event of the Ladies European Tour. You can buy tickets on the tournament website, openfemenino.com, or click directly on https://openfemenino.com/en/tickets-2/ and fill in the form. Remember also that the promotional period for free tickets will close on 21 November.
Puerto Banús: committed to women, committed to sport.
