Puerto Banús enjoys a sports weekend with two events: Ironman 70.3 Marbella and Intercontinental Cup Marbella-Ceuta.
At the end of April, Puerto Banús enjoyed an attractive sports programme throughout the weekend. A wonderful combination between sport and nautical, with two big events: Ironman 70.3 Marbella and Intercontinental Cup Marbella-Ceuta. On Saturday the second edition of Ironman 70.3 Marbella was held, welcoming 2,500 participants from all over the world and offering 60 qualifying places for the Ironman World Championship. The weather attracted thousands of people, some who arrived with the intention of following the decisive stretch and arrival at the finish line, and others who took advantage of the sunny Saturday morning to walk through Puerto Banus. Some of the best athletes participated in the event, such as a world championship and a double Olympic champion. Andreas Dreitz and Laura Phillip won the event in front of thousands of fans in Puerto Banús. At the same time, the Ironman held the III Intercontinental Regatta Marbella-Ceuta, a spectacle of the sea with more than 50 boats. The III Marbella-Ceuta Intercontinental Regatta started this Saturday at the Real Club Marítimo de Marbella. From Marbella’s marina, a fleet of 25 boats headed out to set course for Ceuta. The prize for this sports weekend came from the hand of Puerto Banús offering a series of parallel activities for all audiences such as children’s activities, musical performances, foodtrucks and sports stands.
